Arturo E. Veve, AIA RIBA

Chief Architect | International Design Consultant | China–Middle East Practice Arturo Veve is a chief architect and international design consultant with over 35 years of experience leading complex projects across China, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the Americas. He currently serves as Chief Design Consultant to CSCEC KSA in Saudi Arabia and Chief Architect of the International Department at China Shanghai Architectural Design & Research Institute (CSADRI), where he provides senior design leadership, technical advisory, and strategic support on major international developments. In the Middle East, Arturo operates at the intersection of design excellence, contractor interface, and business development. He is regularly engaged in projects where international standards, local regulatory frameworks, and diverse stakeholder expectations must be reconciled into clear and buildable solutions. His work focuses on reducing technical risk, strengthening coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that design intent is effectively translated into execution.

His portfolio includes a wide range of project types, including mega-scale master plans, airports, sports and entertainment venues, industrial and smart-city developments, mixed-use high-rise complexes, hospitality and resort projects, healthcare facilities, and major public infrastructure. His work in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE builds upon a long-standing international practice in both the United States and China.

A central aspect of Arturo’s contribution is his role as a technical and cultural bridge. He translates international codes and standards—including the Saudi Building Code (SBC), IBC, NFPA, ADA, and LEED—into actionable design and delivery strategies for Chinese design institutes and construction teams. At the same time, he helps international consultants understand Chinese design methodologies, approval processes, and construction practices. This dual perspective has positioned him as a trusted advisor to clients, partners, and senior leadership on complex and high-profile projects.

In addition to project delivery, Arturo is actively involved in market engagement and strategic positioning in Saudi Arabia. He supports the formation of consultant teams, participates in early-stage project development, and represents his organizations in client-facing engagements, professional forums, and international conferences.

Arturo is a Registered Architect in the United States and is NCARB certified. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), where he has held leadership roles within the AIA Shanghai Chapter, and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). He has also been formally recognized in China with a national talent designation, reflecting his continued contribution to international practice.
